Labelling Requirements

Ensure your goods are not seized on the wharf because of non-compliant labelling.
Specific product labelling requirements differ from country to country but what is common to all is a growing complexity in regulations and increasing penalties for non-compliance. Many government agencies have input to ensure consumer protection and, in some cases, to limit competition.
Beyond a list of basic ingredients, labelling requirements often address other aspects of products, including:
- Additives
- 'Best before' dates
- Compliance with standards
- Country or place of origin (see Current Issues)
- Design stipulations
- Intended use
- Language
